BIDEN MUST MEET BOLSONARO IN JUNE

The meeting could take place as early as next month, during the Summit of the Americas, in Los Angeles.  The event will take place between the 6th and 10th of June.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, raised the possibility of holding the first bilateral meeting of his administration with President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).  The information is from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.

The meeting could take place as early as next month, during the Summit of the Americas, in Los Angeles.  The event will take place between the 6th and 10th of June.

If confirmed, this will be the first meeting between the two heads of state.  To date, the two have only exchanged protocol letters.

Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to confirm Bolsonaro's trip to the summit, despite the president having been invited.

The Summit of the Americas is an event that brings together heads of state from the American continent.  It was created by the Organization of American States (OAS) and has the objective of promoting ties of cooperation between the countries of the American economic zone.  This year's summit is expected to address threats to democracy.
